Orca Security acquires Opus to automate cloud risk remediation

The deal, estimated to be in the tens of millions of dollars, brings AI agent capabilities to CNAPP platform in shift from visibility to prevention.

Orca Security, a cloud security company known for its agentless architecture and threat detection tools, has acquired Opus, a startup specializing in AI-driven automation for cloud security remediation. The companies didn’t disclose the valuation of the deal, announced Tuesday, but it is estimated to be in the tens of millions of dollars. The all-Israeli deal positions Orca to expand beyond risk identification into fully automated risk prevention and response—an emerging priority in the rapidly evolving Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) market.
The acquisition brings Opus’s founding team and technology into Orca’s platform. Opus was founded in 2022 by CEO Meny Har and CTO Or Gabbay, who previously helped establish Siemplify, a security orchestration firm acquired by Google Cloud in 2021. Backed by YL Ventures, Tiger Global, and a roster of cybersecurity industry leaders—including CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz and CyberArk founder Udi Mokady—Opus raised $10 million in Seed funding and quickly gained attention for its use of AI agents to streamline cloud risk remediation.

With the acquisition, Orca becomes the first CNAPP platform to combine risk identification, prioritization, and autonomous remediation at scale, according to the company.
“This is the next big leap for Orca and the cloud security industry,” said Gil Geron, CEO and Co-founder of Orca Security. “We’ve already set the standard for agentless visibility and prioritization. With the acquisition of Opus, we’re moving decisively into the era of intelligent action, where cloud security problems are not just seen, but solved automatically.”
Opus co-founder and CEO Meny Har echoed that view. “Orca invented the current approach to cloud security, and it’s constantly raised the bar through continuous innovation,” he said. “At Opus, our mission has always been to close the last mile — making it radically easier to get security issues fixed. Joining forces with a category leader like Orca gives us the platform to take that mission further than ever before, leveraging Agentic AI to transform how risks are resolved at scale.”
Orca’s existing platform offers cloud-wide risk coverage through patented SideScanning technology and a Unified Data Model. It prioritizes critical alerts by building a risk graph of an organization’s cloud environment, helping security teams cut through the noise of thousands of findings to focus on immediate threats. The addition of Opus’s technology extends those capabilities to include automated action.
Founded in 2019, Orca Security has raised $640 million to date and employs around 400 people across its Tel Aviv development center and offices in the U.S., India, and Australia. Its customers include major enterprises such as SAP, Gannett, Autodesk, Unity, Lemonade, and Digital Turbine.
